Synopsis
A Love Supreme is a music movie about how a boy meets a girl through Jazz. Their story is shot primarily with B&W photographs and features four magical musical interludes performed by contemporary artists inspired by the sounds of Coltrane.
Omar Snow (Brian Stiller) is a middle-aged writer who throws away his 9 to 5 straight life to begin a book about the essence of jazz – featuring Monk, Mingus, and Coltrane. He meets a neighbourhood woman, Carrie (Christie MacFadyen), a single, smart, slightly bitter television actress.
They date. Awkwardly. Beautifully. Winter turns to spring turns to summer in their cozy, groovy College St. West neighbourhood. The spirit of John Coltrane and the sensuality of the perfect summer romance come together in A Love Supreme.
